Prophet Jesus and the Story of Dead Village

When Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) passed by a village, he found all its inhabitants in a state of decay with their faces turned pale. He was greatly surprised and said, "O disciples, these people have fallen into the punishment and wrath of Allah.


So the disciples requested, "O Spirit of Allah, we want to know their story.”


When Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) prayed to Allah to learn about them, Allah revealed to him: "When it is night time, call out to the people of the village, and they will respond to you.”


Story of dead village

Then when night fell, Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) came to a hill and called out to the people of the village. One person responded, saying, "Here I am, O Spirit of Allah." Prophet Jesus asked him, "What is your story?”


He said, "O Spirit of Allah, we were sleeping peacefully at night, and in the morning, we were afflicted with death.

 Prophet Jesus asked him, "Why did this happen?"

He replied, "It happened because of love for the world and following the footsteps of the wicked.”


Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) asked, "How was your love for the world?"

He replied, "It was like the love a child has for its mother. When she comes to us, we rejoice, and when she leaves us, we grieve and cry."


Then Prophet Jesus asked, "What happened to your companions? Why don't they respond?”


He said, "Among them, powerful angels have placed the reins of fire.”


Prophet Jesus said to him, "How is one of them responding?"

He replied, "I am among them superficially, but in reality, I am not one of them. When punishment came upon them, I also became afflicted with the punishment along with them.”


"I am currently hanging on the brink of Hell, and I do not know whether I will be saved from it or I will be cast into Hell.”

  In Israel, there was a worshipper who lived in a cave in the mountains. Neither did people see him, nor did he see anyone. He had a spring of water there.
